FARMINGTON — A Good Friday community service, held Friday at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, featured readings from the drama, “Were You There.”

Hosted by the Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry, area pastors and readers gathered to present the scripts written by the Mennonite Church of Canada.

“Were you there when they crucified my Lord,” Pastor Susan Crane of Henderson Memorial asked as she welcomed community members from area churches to the noon service held in remembrance of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Friday followed by his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Reading the part of John was Fred O. Smith while Deb Chase read the part of Peter and the Rev. Jordan Shaw of Trinity United Methodist Church responded as Judas.

The Rev. David Smith of Wilton First Congregational Church read a response from Caiaphas, Janet Brackett as Pilate, Cynthia Kemble as a Roman soldier and Crane as Simon of Cyrene.
